Chutes de Bamena
Nature & parks in Bafoussam.
The story of the place
Also called the Mbangweuh falls, they are in Bangweu, in the Bamena grouping, Ndé division. They are most visible in the rainy season, but that is also when the path, which crosses wetlands and fields of food crops and coffee, becomes difficult. Source: Wikipedia.
How to get there
The pin on the map is approximate: trust these directions instead.
About 5 km from the centre of Bamena, by a track that runs along the Mbangweuh quarter towards Balengou. Ask for the way once there.
Good to know
- Entry and fees
- On site, an access fee or a guide may be asked for, and prices change: agree on the price before you start.
- Who to go with
- In a group rather than alone, and if possible with someone who knows the way.
- What to bring
- Water, good shoes (the rocks are slippery) and something to cover up. Do not swim without asking local people first, and take your rubbish back with you.
